Students are also encouraged to informally meet in study groups whenever possible.

Services for Students with Disabilities

Special needs counseling and support services are provided to qualified students with disabilities to ensure equal access to all programs and activities at HGTC. These services are available to those students who may need individual educational plans, assistive technology, specialized equipment or books, or referral services. Students who know they need these services should make this known to the Admissions Office when they apply or to Lydia Barfoot as soon as the circumstances warrant. HGTC seeks to provide a positive attitudinal and behavioral response from faculty and staff when interacting with people with disabilities. HGTC offers these services and appropriate accommodations to assist students who apply and qualify for one of our degree programs and provide the necessary documentation to declare a disability. The Georgia Division of Rehabilitation Services can help with vocational evaluations, etc. It can be explored at www.vocrehabga.org or you can email them at rehab@dol.state.ga.us.
