The Imaging Science Assistant Program is a Technical Certificate of Credit that prepares students for employment in medical offices and hospitals that offer radiology services. The ISA TCC is a sequence of courses designed to educate the student in office procedures and introductory radiology concepts. The program emphasizes a combination of didactic and clinical instruction. Program completers receive an ISA Technical Certificate of Credit. The ISA program is four quarters in length.
The didactic portion of the curriculum is conducted at Heart of Georgia Technical College. The clinical education experiences are provided at various imaging centers, physician offices and hospitals. These diverse clinical education settings allow the student to observe various modality areas in the imaging sciences. Students rotate through clinical settings under the supervision of preceptors; both radiographers and office personnel.
The ISA TCC is required for competition into the Radiologic Technology Degree Program at HGTC. Along with the ISA TCC an applicant to the Radiologic Technology Program must take the PSB Exam.
