Computer Support Specialist Diploma

 

 

The Computer Support Specialist option prepares students for entry-level careers in computer hardware and software installation and repair, software support, computer operations, basic networking, or computer programming. Computer Support students progress from an overview of microcomputer concepts to developing and writing computer programs in the Visual BASIC language.

Typical Coursework Includes:

  • Computer Networking Concepts
  • Desktop Publishing Techniques
  • Introduction to the Internet
  • Web Page Designing Software
  • Basic Repair
  • Programming
  • Database, Spreadsheet, and Document Processing

 

 

Why Study Computer Information Systems:

Over the last decade the demand for computer technicians increased as computer use in businesses and homes grew rapidly. While the computer industry is not growing at the same rate it was a few years ago, there is still plenty of work for technicians. Especially valued are technicians with industry experience and an ability to work with a variety of computer hardware, software and network types.
