Technical Certificate of Credit

How would we survive through the hot Georgia summer months without Air Conditioning, and what would we do those couple of winter months, when the temperatures dip around 30 degrees?

Heating and air-conditioning systems control the temperature, humidity, and the total air quality in residential, commercial, industrial, and other buildings. Technicians experienced with heating, air-conditioning systems are in great demand. Upon completion of this technical certificate, students are eligible to take the 608 Air Conditioning exam. Cost is $75.  The Air Conditioning program is accredited by HVAC Excellence.

Typical Coursework Includes:

  • Electrical Components
  • Refrigeration Mechanics
  • Industrial Safety Procedures

Why Study Air Conditioning Technology:

Job prospects for heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers are expected to be good, particularly for those with technical school or formal apprenticeship training.

Employment of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through the year 2012. As the population and economy grow, so does the demand for new residential, commercial, and industrial climate-control systems.
