The Air Conditioning Technology Program is a planned sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in the HVAC industry. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of air conditioning theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates are to be competent in the general areas of communications, math, and interpersonal relations. In addition, graduates are to be competent in the specific areas of air conditioning principles, troubleshooting air conditioning systems, and electric heating systems. Program graduates receive an Air Conditioning Technology diploma and have the qualifications of an air conditioning technician. Upon completion of this program, students are eligible to take the 608 Air Conditioning exam. Cost is $75. The Air Conditioning program is accredited by HVAC Excellence. Employment Opportunities: The Air Conditioning Technology program is intended to produce graduates who are prepared for employment as air conditioning technicians. Program Costs: Approximately $4,443 ($4,868 effective winter quarter, 2008) for tuition, fees, books and supplies. Program Length: To graduate, diploma-seeking students must earn a minimum of 85 quarter credit hours. The program generally takes five (5) quarters to complete.
