Are you starting college for the first time, transferring from another college, or reapplying after taking some time off? The Admissions staff is glad to assist you.

The steps to the application process are:

*Complete the Application for Admissions

Applications are available online, onsite on the main campus in Dublin or Little Ocmulgee Instructional Center in Helena, GA. If you have difficulties with the online application, please use the paper application and fax into our office.

*Take the Placement Test

The COMPASS test is given on both the main campus in Dublin and the Little Ocmulgee Instructional Center in Helena. Morning, afternoon, and evening times are available.

  • Call 478.274.7842 or 800.200.4484 for Dublin, or 229.868.7834 for LOIC,
to schedule a date and time to test
  • Pay the $15.00 nonrefundable application fee in the Admissions Office Room 101, Stewart Building, if you have not done so already
  • Report to Room 302 in the Stewart building, or, if testing at LOIC, report to the front entrance with your PHOTO ID.

(NOTE: Testing might be waived if you have taken equivalent college-level English and Math courses.)

*Submit Your Transcript(s) (High school or GED or College transcript)

If you graduated from high school, call or go by the school to request that an official transcript be mailed directly to HGTC’s Admissions office at 560 Pinehill Road, Dublin, GA 31021. GED graduates should bring or mail the passing test scores (not diploma) to us. If you are a home school graduate or a graduate from a high school that is not accredited, please see the alternative path to admissions policy for documentation needed. For a college transcript, contact the registrar’s office at all previous post-secondary institutions and request that transcript(s) be mailed to Admissions at the address above.
