
Financial Aid - How to Apply Online
At Heart of Georgia Technical College, students have the option to complete their financial aid application online. For those desiring to do so, the following guidelines should be observed:
Associate Degree and Diploma Seeking Students
Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form will also serve as an application for the Georgia HOPE Scholarship/Grant. To complete the application, students should:
- Apply for a PIN. Apply for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. A PIN is needed to to electonically sign an application. Dependent students will also need to have a parent apply for a PIN. PIN's are normally e-mailed within 1-5 days.
- Apply for aid. Once a student receives his/her PIN (and parents if student is dependent), he/she should apply for aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov. In order for Heart of Georgia Technical College to receive the application, the HGTC Federal School Code should be listed on the application. HGTC's Federal School Code is 016070.
Technical Certificate of Credit (Certificate) Seeking Students
Students pursing a technical certificate of credit program who choose not to complete the FAFSA can apply for the Georgia HOPE Grant by completing a GSFAPPS application online. Click here for instructions on how to complete the application.
