Welcome to Online Learning at Heart of Georgia Technical College!
Online learning is a convenient alternative to taking courses in a traditional classroom setting. Online courses allow you to learn from almost anywhere and anytime, thus overcoming the barriers of time, distance, and scheduling. Online learning offers the opportunity to take a class via the internet using the Angel Learning System.
In order to be successful with online classes, students must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and have a basic understanding of computer functions.
Course Schedule Type Definitions:
Online: Class is conducted 100% online with the possible exception of 1-2 proctored events
Hybrid - A percentage of the class will be taught in-class and the remaining will be taught online
Web Enhanced - Class is conducted 100% in-class using Angel Learning or the Web as an online component for enhancement
Interactive Remote - These courses are primarily taught between two campuses using one or more interactive audio/video technologies for the current term.
Instructors will send the online students a "Welcome Letter" with directions on how to get started with their
HeartMail and Angel Learning account the day before class begins.
