What is articulation?
Local articulation agreement have been developed between technical colleges and Georgia public high schools to aid in seamless transition without repetition of coursework already mastered in the high school. To obtain a list of articulated courses for your high school click on one of the links on this page. If your high school is not listed, please see your high school guidance counselor.
How does it work?
English and math
ENG 101 English (for certificate and diploma programs)
- Make a B or better in the high school’s senior English course
- Make a Pass Plus on the Language Arts portion of the GHSGT on the first attempt.
- Make a Pass Plus on the Writing portion of the GHSGT on the first attempt.
MAT 101 General Mathematics
- Make a B or better in the high school’s basic mathematics course
- Make a Pass Plus on the Mathematics portion of the GHSGT on the first attempt.
MAT 103 Algebraic Concepts
- Make a B or better in the high school’s algebra equivalent course
- Make a passing score indicating exceeding the standard (63) on the EOCT for Algebra
All other courses
- Make a B or better in the high school’s equivalent course
- Make a B or better on the exemption test given by HGTC.
All articulation credit must be requested within 24 months of high school graduation. Students will receive a form to request the credit during new student orientation at HGTC. Transcripts will be checked at that time.
Where do I start?
- Apply to HGTC and follow all admission procedures within two years of graduation.
- Fill out the request for credit form included in your acceptance packet, ask the admissions office at HGTC for the form, or download it from this page.
