IS DUAL ENROLLMENT FOR YOU?

Would You Like to Start College Early?

Would you like to have a career that you can use while you seek more post secondary education?

Then Check Out Dual Enrollment - It's an exciting opportunity to EARN CREDIT at BOTH your high school AND Heart of Georgia Tech AT THE SAME TIME by enrolling in a class designated as a dual enrollment class.

Dual Enrollment Facts

  • High school students can enroll in the dual enrollment program as part of your regular school day in a Technical Certificate of Credit program.
  • Many of these courses count towards credit in a higher level program at HGTC.
  • These courses DO NOT count towards a student's HOPE Grant CAP hours.  Therefore, students may participate in dual enrollment while in high school and still have ALL of their HOPE Grant/Scholarship hours available upon graduation from high school.
  • Talk with Robbie Hobbs (478-274-7765) or your high school counselor to find out which dual enrollment program is right for YOU!
  • Must be at least 16 or in the 11th grade to participate.

What do I need to do to get started?

  • Take the Asset Placement Exam - usually offered during the 10th grade or at the HGTC testing center.
  • Enrolling in April 2010? Complete this application: Spring QTR 2010 Application     You'll need your counselor's signature on this application.
