The mission of the Heart of Georgia Technical College Alumni Association is to provide programs and services to inform, nurture, and involve the alumni of HGTC and encourage their continuing support of the College. The Association shall assist HGTC in being of increasing benefit to the Alumni and the students enrolled, foster a spirit of loyalty to HGTC and to coordinate the activities of Alumni in the welfare of HGTC.

Alumni Association holds Annual Meeting Dinner & Awards Banquet

The Alumni Association held its Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet on June 30, 2009. The guest speaker for the dinner was HGTC Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) 2009 winner, Mandy Wood.

Sheila Christian, alumni association president, announced the 2009-2010 outstanding alumnus. Five alumni were nominated, they are Phillip Brown, Jennifer Giles, Lakisha Robinson, Richard Sheperd (all of Dublin) and Tammy McCoy of Wrightsville. Each alumni nominated has proven to be exceptional in the community and work-place as they exhibited strong work ethics. The 2009-2010 Outstanding Alumnus is Tammy McCoy of Wrightsville.

Mrs. McCoy is a 2005 Criminal Justice graduate and currently enrolled as a Business Administrative Technology student. She was nominated by her husband Shawn.

In closing, Dr. Randall L. Peters, HGTC president announced Sheila Christian as alumni president for 2009-2010.

Membership in the HGTC Alumn Association is a great way to show your support for HGTC and technical education while supporting current and future students.

The bond between students and Heart of Georgia Technical College continues after graduation. Lifetime job placement assistance, career counseling, opportunities for continuing education, and alumni activities and events are just some of the benefits available to HGTC alumni.

Keeping HGTC graduates involved in the life of the College is an important goal for the HGTC Alumni Council. The Alumni Council helps launch projects to encourage graduates to participate in the ongoing development of HGTC.
